Dear Home Sellers,
Your dog does not make a good showing agent. Please keep this in mind.
I always wondered why some folks don’t take their dog with them when their home is being shown. These are my best guesses to the reasoning:
- The dog might bark in the car
- Fido might poop in the car
- Hercules is too jumpy and rambuncious
- Roscoe jumps and the seller does not want to be covered in dog hair
- It is too much work and inconvenient to pack up that pooch for every showing
- Your dog is a very reluctant real estate agent a quick video time 0:16-35
Here are my replies to that reasoning:
- Your dog barked the entire time we were there. In fact, we almost did not go in the house.
- Your dog pooped on the carpet while you were gone and it turned off my clients
- Your dog IS jumpy and rambuncious, and although we all love our own dogs and many others, we don’t want to hassle with it when looking at our most important investment
- Some dogs do jump, and my clients and I don’t want to be covered in your dog’s hair either
- It takes a lot of work, and is inconvenient for a group of family and friends to look at buying a house, so, with so many homes on the market, it is unlikely, very unlikely, that we will come back to this particular house
Thank you.
p.s. I really do like dogs.
[…] I rather reschedule vs seeing another home with problems like another post of mine? Well, yes I would. Homes with those problems won’t get second showings […]
